I am building my life on Christ, that is the only foundation on which to build a life. 1 Corinthians 3:10 and 11 says:
“According to the grace of God, which was given to me, like a wise master builder, I laid a foundation and another is building upon it, but each man must be careful how he builds on it. 11. For no man can lay a foundation other that the one which is laid, with is Jesus Christ.”
As my new friend C.S. Lewis said in his book Mere Christianity in the chapter The Shocking Alternative, page 49:
When Satan put into the heads of our remote ancestors was the idea that they could “be like gods” could set upon their own as if they had created themselves — to be their own masters — invent some sort of happiness for themselves outside God, apart from God. And out of that hopeless attempt has come nearly all that we call human history — Money, Poverty, Ambition, War, Prostitution, Classes, Empires, Slavery — the long terrible story of man trying to find something other God which will make them happy.
It is a fruitless attempt at best to endeavor to find anything other than Him. We will evidentially go to Him for Him to judge our lives as Christians or Non-Christians, that is the question.
Submit and follow the long and winding road to eternal life. Either heaven or hell, you have the choice. Freedom or Slavery. God is good but He is not safe. As they say in Latin, “Carpe Diem” or one could say “Carpe Momentum” — Seize the Moment.
